There are two separate parts – The base is connected to the camera with a screw hole which is also used as the connection to the tripod. The leather flap is the lens cover, it is connected to the base and can be easily opened with two snap fasteners.

    The z50 is a great little camera, and this case gives it a bit of old-school class that is uncommon in today’s world of black electronic boxes. The case does have a point in protecting the camera and providing a slightly larger grip for hand-holding, but then I like it mainly for the uniqueness that it provides.
